Senior Frontend Engineer
We usually respond within three days
Are you our next Senior Frontend Engineer? We're looking for an engineer who wants to help make logistics uncomplicated, fast, and accessible for small businesses across Europe.
About the role
At Sendify, we're on a mission to create a frictionless shipping experience for SMEs. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll play a central role in shaping the web app where 4,000+ customers every week sign up, compare carrier rates, manage integrations, and book shipments.
You'll work end-to-end , from understanding a real customer problem with your PM and designer, to prototyping, to shipping production code, to owning what happens after the deploy. You'll lead frontend work on one of our three value teams (Customer Experience, Marketplace, or SaaS) and help raise the bar for frontend quality across the wider engineering team.
Your work will directly support Sendify's promise: saving time by making shipping as quick and easy as possible 🚀
In order to succeed in this role we believe you:
Have 8+ years of experience writing production frontend code, with the last 3+ at senior level in a scale-up/start-up, meaning you've led significant pieces of work without close supervision, and made architectural calls you can still defend with a growth mindset at the core of building
Have deep React and TypeScript experience, opinions about state management, comfort reading a complex component tree, and the judgement to know when to reach for context vs. a store vs. URL state
Have strong web fundamentals ;HTML semantics, modern CSS (Grid, Flexbox, container queries, design tokens), the browser rendering pipeline, and the network layer
Treat accessibility as a practitioner skill, not a checklist , you've built interfaces that meet WCAG standards and can spot issues in design review before code is written
Are fluent in web performance , you've measured Core Web Vitals on a real product, found the bottleneck, and shipped the fix
Have testing maturity , you know what unit, integration, and end-to-end tests are each for, and don't over-rely on any one of them
Have great written communication — most of our async work happens in writing (RFCs, PR descriptions, Slack threads), and sharp written reasoning matters
Are fluent in written and spoken English
☀︎ It's a bonus if you:
Have worked in a monorepo at non-trivial scale
Have logistics, marketplace, or B2B SaaS background
Have contributed to building or evolving a design system
Have experience embedding AI-assisted features into product UI
Have working knowledge of Go, or are comfortable reading backend code at the API boundary
Are fluent in Swedish or German
What you'll do:
Plan and lead frontend development on sets of related stories within your value team, collaborating closely with the PM, designer, and backend engineers to figure out what should be built before reaching for the keyboard
Translate designs into production user interfaces — accessible, performant, well-tested, and consistent with the rest of the product
Build prototypes with the team, not for the team — putting working code in front of customers when the answer to a product question is unclear
Own web performance on the surfaces you touch — Core Web Vitals are not a vanity metric for us, they correlate directly with booking conversion
Champion accessibility — WCAG 2.2 AA is the baseline, not the ceiling
Contribute to architecture decisions that cross the frontend/backend line — what belongs in the frontend vs. the BFF vs. the Go service, how integrations surface in the UI, how real-time updates work
Help maintain shared standards across the React/TypeScript monorepo through PR review, the bi-weekly Tech Council, and the way you write your own code
Mentor more junior engineers — through code review, pairing, and how you frame technical decisions
Contribute to evolving our design system in collaboration with designers and other engineers
In this work you will use tools such as React, TypeScript, GitLab, AWS, Snowflake, Figma, Slack, JIRA, Notion, Claude Code, Fullstory etc.
